As a result of Monday morning’s flash flooding, an incident occurred involving a vehicle being swept away by rapidly moving floodwaters, according to the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office.  Bandera County officials say one person was in the vehicle when it was swept away.

Multiple Bandera County emergency agencies are currently conducting search operations in the area of Lower Mason Creek Road and Chipman Lane.  Personnel from Center Point Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene, and a Texas Deptartment of Public Safety helicopter is assisting with search efforts, as well.

For the safety of both the public and emergency responders, residents are urged to avoid this area and refrain from attempting to assist.  “It is critical that first responders have unobstructed access to conduct their operations safely and efficiently,” said BCSO.  Additionally, first responders are working with specialized equipment to assist in the search.
