Boerne High School received a threatening message on Wednesday, February 18, just before 8 a.m., indicating there were several bombs on campus, according to a Boerne PD Facebook post. At the time, students had not yet arrived, and only staff and a few early-arriving students were on site. The school was cleared and has since reopened, according to a release.
Officers responded immediately, evacuating the campus and began a thorough search of the property. With assistance from an FBI bomb technician and the San Antonio Police Department Bomb Unit, all buildings were carefully swept. No credible threat was found, and by 8:45 a.m., the campus was cleared to reopen to students.
Additional Boerne Police officers will remain on campus throughout the day as a precaution.
