With the holiday season almost officially underway, the City of Kerrville is once again searching for the poem that best captures the meaning of a “Christmas in Kerrville.”  Poems submitted need to be tasteful, positive, and capture the meaning of a Christmas in Kerrville.  Poems that do not meet such criteria will be disqualified.

The Kerrville Christmas Committee will review each poem submitted and select their three favorite poems, which will be posted on the City of Kerrville’s Facebook page.  Citizens are encouraged to vote for their favorite poem by “liking” it on the city’s Facebook page.  Poems will be posted beginning on Tuesday, December 5 through Friday, December 8, at 3 p.m.

The winning poem will receive a proclamation declaring their poem as the official 2023 “Christmas in Kerrville” poem from Kerrville Mayor Judy Eychner, and have their poem published in the “Kerrville Daily Times” on Thursday, December 14, and the “Hill Country Community Journal” on Wednesday, December 13.

Poems can be submitted to the city secretary’s office, 701 Main Street, in Kerrville, until Friday, December 1, or emailed to shelley.mcelhannon@kerrvilletx.gov.  For additional information, call (830) 258-1118.
