The City of Kerrville would like to make residents aware of the status of the Streets Reconstruction Project and have confirmed that construction has been completed on Cottage Street, Hillside Drive, Wallace Street and Upper Street North.

Preparation is underway for the remaining streets in the ongoing project and will resume in mid to late August. The streets listed for reconstruction include West Barnett Street, McFarland Drive, Remschel Avenue and Wallace Street. The construction launches the second street reconstruction event in association with the 2019 Bond Streets Reconstruction project, funded as part of a $10.5 million bond issuance for street and drainage improvements.

The construction is estimated to continue through October 2021. Accommodations will be made for local residences, emergency services and solid waste services as needed.

On Monday, August 9, the City of Kerrville will close Jefferson Street between Hays Street and Francisco Lemos in preparation for paving that will start Thursday, August 12. Weather permitting, this full road closure is expected to reopen on Friday, August 13.

Barricades will block entry into this area, but residents living in this section of Jefferson Street, trash trucks and postal carriers will be permitted access. Public safety personnel should consider alternate routes.
