The City of Kerrville has announced it’s launching its first Citizen’s Academy.  The Citizen’s Academy aims to engage the community by providing a better understanding of the city’s operations and the wide range of services it offers.  Along with classroom sessions, the Citizen’s Academy is offering an immersive experience with tours of city facilities, including the water production plant, wastewater treatment facility, police and fire stations, various parks and the library.

The program will consist of eight weekly sessions that will last approximately two hours each, and periodic tours allowing for the best optimal learning experience.  To be eligible for the Citizen’s Academy, participants must be a resident of the City of Kerrville, at least 18 years of age, not currently running for political office, not currently a member of the Kerrville City Council, and able to commit to attending all sessions.

To apply for the Citizen’s Academy, visit https://tx-kerrville3.civicplus.com/2092/Citizens-Academy.  Applications must be received by February 23.
