City of Kerrville taking applications for 3rd Citizens’ Government Academy

The City of Kerrville has announced it is now taking applications for its third Citizens’ Academy, a 10-week program designed to engage the community by providing a behind-the-scenes look at city operations and services.

The Citizens’ Government Academy offers an interactive learning experience featuring classroom discussions, facility tours, and hands-on activities with city staff. Participants will gain insight into the functions of City Council, Public Works, Police, Fire, and other municipal services while also developing a deeper understanding of how the city operates.

The program consists of weekly sessions, each lasting approximately three hours. Some sessions will include tours of city facilities to enhance the learning experience.

To be eligible for the Citizens’ Government Academy, participants must:

~ Be a resident of Kerrville, own a business in Kerrville, or volunteer in Kerrville

~ Be at least 18 years of age

~ Not be running for political office during the program period

~ Not be a current member of the Kerrville City Council

~ Commit to attending all sessions
