The City of Kerrville is currently accepting applications for its fourth Citizens Government Academy, a 10-week program designed to engage residents and provide a behind-the-scenes look at city operations and services. The Academy offers an interactive learning experience featuring classroom discussions, facility tours, and hands-on activities with city staff. Participants will gain insight into the work of City Council, Public Works, Police and Fire, and other municipal services -building a clear understanding of how the city operates and serves the community.
Note: This is not the Citizen Police Academy. While the Citizens Government Academy does include an overview of the Police Department and its services, the program focuses on all city departments and municipal operations. For the Citizen POLICE Academy, visit https://www.kerrvilletx.gov/DocumentCenter/View/32558?CPA Application 2018.
The program consists of weekly sessions, each lasting approximately three hours. Some sessions will include tours of city facilities to enhance the learning experience.
