~More than 16,000 dressers sold at Walmart are under recall because they could tip over, posing a risk of injury or entrapment to children  The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall alert Thursday for 16,809 dressers because they are unstable and violate mandatory safety standards set by the STURDY Act.  The dressers were sold online at Walmart between September 2023 and March 2026 for about $80.

~More than 184,000 cans of lentil soup sold in 28 states, including Texas, and parts of Canada are under recall because they might spill.  The Food and Drug Administration issued a recall alert June 22 for Amy’s Organic Soups Lentil Light in sodium cans.  The recall was classified as a Class II on July 14.

According to the agency, a Class II recall is “a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”  About 15,350 cases of the canned soup were recalled.  Each case has 12 cans, with the expiration date “Best Before April 2027.”

~The Food and Drug Administration is recalling select lots of an allergy medication due to possible contamination with another medicine.  In a recall notice on Saturday, Unique Pharmaceutical Laboratories said it was voluntarily recalling four lots of cetirizine hydrochloride tablets USP 5 mg due to cross-contamination with ranitidine.  The medication was distributed nationwide to several wholesalers and retailers.

The cross-contamination could pose some life-threatening effects for those with a hypersensitivity to the ingredients in ranitidine, including hypersensitivity reactions, anaphylaxis that could manifest as hypotension, dyspnea, difficulty swallowing, throat and facial edema, generalized pruritus, urticaria and loss of consciousness.

~A Texas egg producer is voluntarily recalling 1.6 million dozen eggs sold at Kroger and Brookshire’s grocery stores across the South after the products were found to have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis, the Food and Drug Administration announced Wednesday.  Midwest Poultry Services, L.P. said it is recalling 1,589,577 dozen white shell eggs and brown cage-free eggs produced at its Texas farms between June 6 and July 3.  The recalled eggs were distributed to foodservice and retail customers in several states, and carry sell-by or best-by dates between July 20 and August 17.

Only eggs with the identifying plant codes P-1950 or 0840962 and a Julian Date between 157 and 184 printed on the side of the carton are affected.  Customers who purchased the recalled eggs are urged not to eat them and to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

~Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics has recalled select Banana & Strawberry fruit puree pouches because they may contain a strand of soft, food-grade plastic.  The recalled pouches were sold exclusively at Kroger, Meijer and Target stores nationwide between March 6 and July 13, 2026.  The affected products can be identified by the following markers:

~More than 387,000 Ford vehicles are under recall due to a possible defect with the second-row seat in certain models.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a recall notice July 14 for certain 2020-2027 Lincoln Aviator and 2020-2026 Ford Explorer models.  The recall is due to a defect with the switch on the second-row seats that could bind or stick, resulting in the seats tipping or sliding unexpectedly.

Owners will be notified by mail during the last week of July.  A remedy notification letter is planned by Jan. 5 through Jan. 8, 2027.  Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealership to have the second-row seat inspected and replaced with a revised design, free of charge.  According to Ford, the new design will have a higher retention force than the previous switch bezel.
