The Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department is set to host a free interpretive hike with hot cocoa on Saturday, January 11 at 10 a.m. at Kerrville-Schreiner Park, 2385 Bandera Highway. Texas Master Naturalists and the Riverside Nature Center will join to teach participants about the wildlife found in the park. The hike will cover approximately one mile of trail, offering excellent views and a chance to celebrate nature as a community.
Participants should dress for the weather, wear sturdy hiking boots or sneakers, and bring a coffee mug. Hot cocoa and binoculars will be provided, and no registration is required. The hike will begin at Trailhead 5 on the hillside of Kerrville-Schreiner Park by 10 a.m. All day-use fees will be waived during this time, and the gate will be open from 9:30-10:15 a.m.
The event marks the beginning of several promotional activities in Kerrville-Schreiner Park this year. Additional information regarding the park and its upcoming events and programs can be found at www.kerrvilletx.gov/camp.
For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (830) 257-7300, or visit the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov.
