H-E-B says none of its suppliers have reported any issues related to cyclosporiasis, a parasitic illness that has raised some concerns in some areas. In a post on X, the San Antonio-based chain said it has not identified any problems within its supply chain and emphasized that produce sold in its stores remains safe for customers.
Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal illness caused by the Cyclosporo parasite. People can become infected by consuming contaminated fresh produce or water. Symptoms can include watery diarrhea, loss of appetite, weight loss, stomach cramps, bloating, nausea, and fatigue.
“None of our suppliers have reported issues with cyclospoiasis to date,” H-E-B said. “Produce sold at H-E-B is safe, and we continue to closely monitor the situation.”
H-E-B has not received any reports from suppliers indicating contamination affecting its products.
