Kerr County officials have announced that the Hill Country Youth Event Center, located at 3785 TX27 in Kerrville,  will be open to host viewers during the total eclipse, Monday, April 8, making the venue the largest parking area in the county.  The available parking includes the regular asphalt parking lot, the polo field, River Star Park, Flat Rock Park, all of which can accommodate up to a few thousand vehicles.  Parking itself will be provided by the professional services of the OVG360 Parking and Mobility team.

The parking lots will open at 7 a.m. on eclipse day and offer a safe area for visitors to spend the day, or to leave their vehicles and watch the eclipse elsewhere.  It is roughly a one-hour walk from the site to the Kerrville Eclipse Festival via the Kerrville River Trail.

The main HCYEC parking lots also allow individuals the use of climate-controlled restrooms for the duration of the day and have an outdoor arena exclusively reserved for those wishing to set up a vehicle-free viewing area.  “We are excited to offer up the largest parking area in the county to witness this once-in-a-lifetime event,” said Jake Williamson, HCYEC’s general manager.

To receive the discounted rate for advance purchase, prepaid parking ($75), visit https://smart passes.parkhub.com/listings/passes/0adc7040-e29b-400d-bd7d-b5a99a7df0cb.  Parking fees on the day of the eclipse will be $100 until the parking lots have reached capacity.  Buses will have an additional fee.
