Kerr County officials have confirmed that Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, Mitzi French, and her staff will be among those fortunate office workers who will be making the move back to the Kerr County Courthouse.
The JP-1 office will be closed all day on Friday, Sept. 4, to allow staff to relocate equipment and furniture back to the courthouse.
The JP1 office, like most Kerr County offices, will be closed on Monday in observance of the federal holiday, Labor Day.
On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the JP1 office will reopen to the public at 8 a.m. in Room 102 on the first floor of the courthouse, located at 700 Main Street in Kerrville.
Public access to the courthouse remains highly restricted. Due to the severe flooding that destroyed the lower level and damaged the elevators, the basement and the second floor continue to be inaccessible to the public. Public movements will be monitored and limited to those offices on the first floor ONLY that have officially reopened.
