The City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department has announced that alternative folk band Judah & the Lion will be headlining the highly anticipated Kerrville Eclipse Festival on Monday, April 8 in Louise Hays Park. The headliner’s new album “The Process” is being released on May 10, and attendees will have an opportunity to hear some of the band’s fan favorites such as “Suit and Jacket” and “Take it All Back.”
The festival will be serving as a NASA-designated viewing location due to its position of the eclipse’s path of totality and is expected to attract many astronomy enthusiasts from all over the world. NASA will be on site at Louise-Hays Park broadcasting the eclipse as it occurs.
The festival, “See the Eclipse, Stay for the Totality of our Event,” is free and open-to-the-public and will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The day’s scheduled events and activities will include numerous family-friendly activities such as yoga classes, food vendors, astronomy speakers, and plenty of live music. Attendees are highly encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to the event as no electronic transactions will be available. Commemorative Kerrville Eclipse souvenirs will be available for cash purchase on site while supplies last.
For additional information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (830) 257-7300, or visit the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov.
