Kendall County officials have announced the burn ban is back on, effective August 25, 2026.

During the August 25, 2026, Kendall County Commissioners’ Court meeting, County Fire Marshal Brady Constantine reported conditions are ripe for grass fires and wildfires, which led to the commissioner’s enacting a county-wide burn ban for the first time since the spring.

No outdoor burning is allowed, including campfires, brush burning, burn barrels, fireworks and yard waste burning.  The ban will be reviewed every two weeks.
