The Kendall County Commissioners Court voted on Tuesday to reimpose a county-wide burn ban for the next two weeks while rescuers and search teams continue combing the area for survivors from the July 4th floods.
A burn ban in Kerr County was implemented on July 7 in all Precincts. The ban will be in place until at least the next regular meeting of the Commissioners’ Court scheduled Monday, July 14.
A request for the burn ban came from Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha and those leaders in the Emergency Operations Center, who said people burning debris were causing an issue with ongoing, primary search-and-rescue operations in and around the Guadalupe River.
