Kerr County COVID-19 stats continue to decrease

During the past week, the total number of active COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in Kerr County has continued to decrease, according to Kerr County Emergency Management Coordinator Dub Thomas. The county released their most up-to-date statistics which show 47 active COVID-19 cases and just two virus related hospitalizations.

There are no mass vaccination clinics set for the coming week, but vaccines are available at local pharmacies or by signing up on the Peterson Regional Medical Center schedule to receive a Janssen vaccine. Individuals interested in scheduling appointments can visit www.petersonhealth.com.

As of Monday, May 17, DSHS has offered the following COVID-19 updates for Kerr County:

47 Active Cases

4,376 Recoveries

88 Fatalities

2 Hospitalizations

30,928 Vaccines Received (This is the total number of vaccines administered to Kerr County residents, no matter where they received their inoculations.)

14,130 People Fully Vaccinated

18,025 People Receiving at least One Dose

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations in Texas has dropped to its lowest total since June 10, 2020. As of May 17, there are 2,157 coronavirus hospitalizations and 83,638 active cases. The number of eligible Texans that are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is 39.16% and 49.47% of Texans have had at least one dose.

Texans can dial the state’s new call center at (844) 90-TEXAS to connect groups of at least 10 people with one of the state’s mobile teams, anywhere in the state, for vaccinations.
