Kerr County Disaster Debris Pickup begins Wednesday

Kerr County is launching its Kerr County Disaster Debris Pickup, a 3-week effort to help remove Construction & Demolition (C&D) debris resulting from the July 16 flood and subsequent cleanup and repairs.  This service is meant only for construction debris, including wood, steel, concrete, bricks, masonry blocks, drywall, plaster, flooring materials, ceiling tiles, acoustic panels, sinks, toilets, pipes, electrical wiring, glass windows and shingles, etc.

This service is not collecting items such as, vegetative debris, household appliances, electronics, hazardous materials and household garbage.  The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for anyone illegally dumping household garbage in with flood debris.

Citizens wanting debris picked up are asked to do the following:

~Separate it from all other types of debris

~Place it on the right-of-way at the edge of your property next to the public road

~Do not obstruct roads or block drainage ditches

~Keep it clear!  Collection trucks need room to work, so don’t place debris near low branches or power lines, fire hydrants, water meters, mailboxes or other objects
