A Kerr County man was arrested last week on numerous charges after firing shots within a residence. Kerr County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 100 block of Short Line Drive in Center Point on November 14, after a “distressed female caller” reported that a male suspect was firing a hunting rifle within a home. Upon arriving at the residence, it was discovered that the suspect, identified as Zeferino Arreola Lopez, 41, of Center Point had left the residence in a pickup truck with a .30-06 hunting rifle.
Investigators of the Special Operations Division were able to identify the vehicle and locate the vehicle traveling on FM 480. A tactical plan was improvised, and the vehicle was followed to the 200 block of Tremper Trail in Center Point. A vehicle stop was conducted on Lopez, and he was safely detained without incident.
Lopez was transported to the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office for a custodial interview by the Criminal Investigations Division. During the interview, according to authorities, Lopez confessed to damaging two vehicles prior to the shooting. It is believed alcohol may have played a role in this incident. Lopez was charged with three counts of Deadly Conduct, a third-degree felony, one felony count of Criminal Mischief, and one count of misdemeanor criminal Mischief. Bond has not been set.
