Kerr County is finalizing its communitywide vaccine and plans to announce the details on Tuesday, January 19.

Kerr County Emergency Management Coordinator Dub Thomas reported 405 active COVID-19 cases on Friday, January 15, and said the county’s recoveries went up by 297 cases, to 2,820. Peterson Regional Medical Center said there were 19 new positive cases of the virus confirmed on Friday, 23 new cases on Thursday, 32 new cases Wednesday and 22 new cases on Tuesday.

As for Kerr County hospitalizations, Thomas said, “The good news for today is our hospitalizations are down to nearly half of what they were a week ago. PRMC reported 18 hospitalizations today of patients hospitalized in Kerrville and being treated for COVID-19. Five of those patients were listed in the ICU.”

The Texas Department of State Health Services has confirmed that another permanent resident of Kerr County has succumbed to COVID-19, which brings the county’s pandemic total to 49 fatalities among the county population.
