Kerr County officials are asking citizens who would like to help out with local elections and local voters to consider becoming a Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR). “VDR’s” assist with the handing out and receiving of voter registration cards, making sure the cards are filled out correctly and submitting those registrations to the Kerr County Elections Department in a timely manner.

Candidates can pick up a packet from the Kerr County Elections Department at the Kerr County Courthouse, Suite 124, before choosing an exam date. Certification tests are administered at 5:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in the courthouse elections office, and each test session is limited to ten people.

Those individuals who have served in the past and want to help again are being asked to bring their respective certificates and supplies when attending their recertification exam. New items will be issued to them for the upcoming term.

According to Kerr County voter registrar and tax assessor-collector Bob Reeves, “Whether you want to encourage fellow citizens to vote or help them get started in the process by assisting them in the voter registratipon process, we invite you to become a volunteer deputy registrar in service to our county residents.”
