The Kerr Wildlife Management Area is excited to celebrate its 75th Anniversary with a special fall seminar on Friday, October 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their site located at 2625 FM 1340, in Hunt. Go “Back to the Basics” as the organization takes attendees through a historical overview of the WMA and the research that has been conducted in the area.
Some of the agenda items included:
~Field Tour, including ecosystems management and diet preference of deer
~Research updates for feral hogs, turkeys, and brush management techniques
~White-tailed Deer research update
~Aging and scoring deer on the hoof
~Deer surveys and harvest strategies
~Wildlife diseases, including New World Screwworm update
