There will be plenty to do this upcoming weekend in Kerrville beginning with the announcement that “Movies in the Park” returns Friday, June 11, as it showcases “Frozen 2” at Louise Hays Park, 202 Thompson Drive. Hosted by the Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department, families are asked to bring their own chairs, blankets, etc…. Snacks will be available for purchase on site.

On Saturday, June 12, T-N-S Engraving in partnership with Kerrville Parks and Recreation, will be hosting a “Skateboard Competition at the Skate Park” in Singing Wind Park beginning at 10 a.m. Participants will be allotted three minutes in which to show off their skills and there is no entry fee. (Helmets are required.)

Also scheduled for Saturday, June 12, is the ribbon cutting and grand opening of “River Trail at Schreiner University’s Trailhead and Beer Garden” which will be open to the public and is taking place at 6 p.m. According to Kerrville Parks and Recreation director Ashlea Boyle, “This extension provides the connectivity and opportunity for the students and surrounding neighborhood to access the trail.”
