Families are invited to join the staff at the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library this Saturday, March 29, for a 10:30 a.m. presentation by Laura Levy from Busy-Birding on the City Nature Challenge (CNC), along with a demonstration.

In 2024, the San Antonio Metro Area, which includes Kerr and 11 nearby counties, placed 3rd in the entire world in this friendly challenge to catalog all living creatures in our area.  Everyone is invited to come learn how you and your family can help retain our National Champions title during the April 25-28, 2025 event.  The discussion will include Citizen Science, the iNaturalist online Community, and the free mobile apps iNaturalist and Seek.

Following the presentation, attendees will move outside for observations.  Interested participants should bring their cell phones to the program, and cameras are also welcome.

The program is free and registration is not required.  For more information, contact the library’s reference desk at (830) 258-1274, or visit the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov.
