Kerrville man on child sex assault and child pornography charges

The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division in conjunction with the Kerrville Police Department and the Texas Attorney General’s Office Child Exploitation Unit assisted with a felony warrant service in Kerrville on June 10, in which 29-year old Christopher Allen Cuellar, of Kerrville, was arrested in the 100 block of Westminster Avenue.

Cuellar was the subject of an investigation conducted by the Texas Attorney General’s Office regarding possessing and promotion of child pornography. During his arrest, Cuellar attempted to forcefully evade arrest by a KCSO investigator and KPD officer, according to a press release.

The investigation began with a referral by Boone, North Carolina, police who reported Cuellar’s online activity to the Texas Attorney general’s Office. The criminal complaint alleges Cuellar discussed the production and sharing of child pornography via social media with officers in North Carolina.

During the warrant service, officers retrieved multiple electronic devices and KCSO investigators allegedly found videos and images of children under 14 years of age on devices belonging to Cuellar.

Cuellar is being charged with three counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, three counts of Indecency with a Child by Contact, and two counts of Possession with Intent to Promote Child Pornography. Cuellar is currently being held at the Kerr County Jail on bonds totaling $2,232,500.

Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leith released a statement saying, “This investigation has revealed unspeakable crimes against these two innocent children. We thank the Texas AG’s office for their work and KPD for cooperating on this warrant.”

As with all criminal cases, charges may be added or modified prior to trial and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
