The Kerrville Police Department is reporting that city streets have been accumulating ice and are very slick due to the ongoing arctic storm. KPD confirms the wintry precipitation has been active since the early morning hours with temperatures registering 28 degrees as of 5:40 a.m.

TxDOT and the City of Kerrville have been notified that the following roads are icing over: all of Loop 534; all of Holdsworth Drive; SH 16 north of IH 10; all of SH 27 (Main Street & Junction Hwy); Sidney Baker bridge.

KPD and city officials want to urge residents to refrain from non-essential driving. City Hall, the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library, and other non-essential facilities will be closed until at least noon today, Thursday, February 3.

The City will continue to provide updates as needed.
