An 18-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting Friday night after several rounds were fired toward a residence and people in the yard, according to the Kerrville Police Department. Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 300 block of West Schreiner Street at about 9:42 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, according to officials.
An initial investigation found that a vehicle drove past the residence and someone inside the vehicle fired several rounds toward the house and people in the yard, Police said. According to Kerrville PD, the woman was sitting in a parked vehicle in front of the residence when she was struck by gunfire. She was flown to a San Antonio hospital and is in stable condition, according to officials.
At least one bullet struck and entered the occupied home, according to investigators. No one else was injured. Detectives are continuing to investigate and gather additional information. Police said there does not appear to be a threat to the general public.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Detective Colton Willoughby at 830-258-1315.
