The Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its annual Skateboard Competition this Saturday, April 12, at the Skate Park in Singing Wind Park, 2320 Singing Wind Drive. Skaters of all ages are invited to showcase their best tricks and compete for top honors in their age division.
Participants are expected to arrive by 9:30 a.m. for check-in and a warm-up prior to the competition starting at 10 a.m. Each skater will have three minutes to impress the judges with their skills. Skaters will be placed into one of four age categories: 8 years and under, 9-12 years, 13-16 years, and 17 years and older. All participants must bring their own skateboard and safety gear, including helmets, which are mandatory for participation.
This event is free, but pre-registration is required. Interested parties can register in person at the Parks and Recreation Department Office at Kerrville-Schreiner Park, 2385 Bandera Highway, by phone at (830) 257-7300, or online at the registration link.
Sponsors include: Breakfast Worldwide, KwikSighns, Five Oh Skate Shop, Daze Skateboards, and Callazo Electric. Heart of Stoke will also be on site distributing equipment to children in need.
