Out of an abundance of caution and based on weather forecasts for the week, Kerrville ISD has decided to make Tuesday, February 16 an inclement weather day for the district. All district activities and practices have been canceled for Monday and Tuesday.

Monday, February 15 is an already scheduled student holiday. The district will continue to monitor the weather and make a decision regarding Wednesday, February 17 on Tuesday.

Ingram ISD has now announced that they will have no school on Tuesday.

Schreiner University will close campus and move to online classes Monday, February 15 due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. Off-campus students and employees are asked to stay home and refrain from coming to campus.

University officials will continue to monitor the local weather conditions and advise if necessary for Tuesday, February 16.

The City of Kerrville’s Street Division has closed Loop 534 on behalf of TXDOT from State Highway 16 to Cypress Creek Road until further notice. This is a full road closure and through traffic will not be possible due to icing conditions.

The Kerrville Police Department and the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office are advising citizens not to drive if at all possible and stay at home.

In the event that the weather causes citizens a need to seek shelter, there are two locations currently available: Salvation Army, 855 Hays Street, (830) 257-6770; Cavalry Temple Church, 3000 Loop 534, (830) 895-3000.
