KPA! sets up emergency pet relief for flood victims

Kerrville Pets Alive! is working to help families reunite with their pets who were displaced by the recent floodwaters.  The nonprofit mobilized staff and volunteers have launched an emergency flood pet response, creating a centralized database where residents can report lost or found pets and request assistance.

KPA! has delivered pet crates and emergency supplies to shelters at City West Church in Ingram and Cavalry Temple in Kerrville, where displaced residents are staying.  Additionally, to make room for animals affected by the flooding, 20 dogs and cats that had completed their required stray hold at Kerr County Animal Control were transferred to Austin Pets Alive! for adoption, opening much-needed kennel space for incoming flood-related rescues.

The organization is encouraging anyone who has lost or found a pet to submit information through its online flood pet database and contact Kerr County Animal Control.  Families needing pet food, supplies or emergency veterinary assistance can also reach out to Kerrville Pets Alive! for help.
