The Kerrville Police Department is hosting ‘National Prescription Drug Take Back Day’ from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the KPD building, 365 Clearwater Paseo in Kerrville. Attendees are asked to drive through the KPD parking lot.
Unaccepted items include needles or injectors, illegal drugs, and all batteries must be removed from vapes before disposing of them. Accepted items include tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) hosts this event twice a year. Collection sites do not ask for your name, address or identification. The DEA and local law enforcement collect the surrendered items and destroy them safely so they cannot be abused or pollute water systems.
