The Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library is excited to introduce LEAP (Learning, Exploration, Adventure, Play) Adventure Kits, a hands-on resource designed to help families explore nature, science, and the world around them. These themed kits are now available for checkout with a current library card account.
Each kit includes carefully selected books, activities, and interactive materials to support family learning and outdoor discovery. Topics include:
~Birds – binoculars, field guides, and storybooks
~Gardening – seed packets, plant guides, and children’s gardening tools
~Rocks & Fossils – magnifiers, identification charts, and excavation activities
~Native Plants – field materials and guides to Texas flora
“With the LEAP Adventure Kits, families can take library learning beyond our walls,” said Diane Miller, director of the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library. “These kits are designed to spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and by connecting kids with science and nature in fun, memorable ways.”
