If you want to vote in the Nov. 4 election, you’ll want to make sure you’re registered to vote by Monday, Oct. 6. Across Texas, 17 constitutional amendments are on the ballot ranging from school district propositions, property tax exemptions, judicial reforms and parental rights.
If you are registered but have lost your voter registration card, you can notify your county voter registrar in writing to get a new one.
You won’t need your voter registration card when you vote, but you will need a valid form of identification to vote in Texas. Here is a list of acceptable forms of photo I.D.:
~Texas Driver’s License issued by the Texas Dept. Of Public Safety (DPS).
~Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS.
~Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS.
~Texas Handgun License issued by DPS.
~United States Military Identification Card containing the person’s photograph.
~United States Passport (book or card).
Early voting runs from Monday, Oct. 20, through Friday, Oct. 31. The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is Oct. 24. Election Day is Nov. 4.
