Open Testing with the Kerrville Police Department is scheduled for Saturday, September 21 at 9 a.m. at the Dietert Center, 451 Guadalupe Street in Kerrville.  Individuals interested in attending should RSVP at kpdrecruiting@kerrvilletx.gov, and bring a valid driver’s license.

Applicants should wear athletic clothes because there will be a 2,000 meter row.  Additionally, applicants will be asked to complete a written test, the M-Pulse Assessment, and sit for an informal interview.

The 2,000 meter row is taken on a Concept 2 rower with a damper setting #5, and applicants must achieve 40%.  This percentage is determined by a calculator that requires one’s age group (20’s, 30’s, etc), sex and weight.  Those individuals that achieve a 40% or higher will then move on to the written test.

The written test comprises of four sections:  math (basic word problems), reading comprehension, grammar, and report writing.  Those passing the written exam will take the M-Pulse Assessment, which is a questionnaire which assesses the future job performance of law enforcement applicants.

Applicants who meet all requirements will be invited to continue the application process to full time employment.
