The City of Kerrville is preparing for two partial street closures Wednesday, November 12.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. a portion of Olympic Drive in the vicinity of the existing western driveway location for the Olympic Pool will close as the City of Kerrville and contractor, JK Bernhard Construction Co., extend the water main for the new Olympic Pool Facility. The closure is expected to run from Singing Wind Drive to San Jacinto Drive.
Additionally, starting at approximately 1 p.m., a portion of Water Street between Quinlan, Clay and State Hwy. 16 will also be closed as the City relocates the “Thanks for the Rain” bronze statue by well-known artist, Joe Beeler (1931-2006). The artwork currently sits at the Museum of Western Art and will find its permanent home in front of the AC Schreiner House currently under renovation to house the cultural heritage and rich history of Kerr County and the surrounding Hill Country, including Kerrville’s origins as a shingle-making community from the 1840’s.
