On Saturday, September 5, at about 9:28 p.m., the Kerrville Police Department responded to a fatal crash involving a pedestrian in the 1200 block of Junction Highway.  The crash claimed the life of 46-year-old Jeanne Avalos, a Kerr County resident, according to KPD.

The initial investigation revealed that Avalos was crossing Junction Highway when she was struck by a vehicle traveling east.  The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, the release said.  The driver was not impaired and no charges are anticipated.

Avalos was aided by passers-by at the scene, before being transported by ambulance to Peterson Regional Medical Center, where she died from her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
