The Kerrville Police Department has confirmed the identity of the person who was found deceased in the Guadalupe River on Wednesday, December 28 as being Joshua Michael Tally, 25, of Kerrville.  Tally was reported missing from his residence in the 1000 block of Guadalupe Street on the afternoon of December 25.

On Wednesday, December 28, at 2:40 p.m., a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter located a body in Nimitz Lake at the dam at 700 Guadalupe Street in Kerrville, and the Kerrville Fire Department recovered the body from the water.  The body was sent to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Austin, and Tally’s identity was confirmed.

The circumstances in which Tally entered the river are now the focus of an on-going investigation.  Results from the Medical Examiner’s autopsy report and toxicology reports are pending.
