Property Tax Workshop scheduled June 7 for Fredericksburg residents

The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Property Tax Workshop on Wednesday, June 7, at 10 a.m., at Hoffman Haus. The presentation will focus primarily on business properties, but will also address residential properties. The cost of attending the event is $10.

Olan Tisdale will be speaking on how property value is appraised and answer questions about how and when to file a protest. Taxpayers have until June 16 to file a written protest with the Gillespie Central Appraisal District.

The GCAD sent 2023 property tax appraisals recently and residential property owners in both the city and county saw an average 19% rise in valuations. The market value of all properties in the district rose 23.64%
