The ramp behind the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library leading to the Kerrville River Trail and Louise Hays Park will be closed on two separate occasions to facilitate the city’s newest art installation.  The first closure begins at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 20, until approximately noon on Friday, May 24.  The second closure begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, until approximately 5 p.m. on Friday, May 31.

The ramp will be accessible on Memorial Day weekend and Memorial Day.  Citizens are reminded to be mindful of signage and barricades and not walk, run, bike or otherwise go past or ignore safety barriers.

The Community Arts Program received approval to display artwork for this location.  The artwork will be etched on the concrete walls of the ramp for educational and cultural purposes as a tribute to the Guadalupe River and will represent seven ecological layers, from the river bottom to dark skies.

For additional information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (830) 257-7300, or visit the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov.
