The Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department is inviting the entire community to the official ribbon cutting ceremony for its newest park improvement, an inclusive playground in Guadalupe Park on Tuesday, April 1 at 4:30 p.m. at Guadalupe Park, 700 Gaudalupe St. This inclusive playground is designed to be accessible and welcoming for children of every ability, including those with physical, sensory, or cognitive disabilities.
Also on April 1, a new playground at Kerrville-Schreiner Park, 2385 Bandera Hwy., will open to the public.
The Guadalupe Park and Kerrville-Schreiner Park playground replacements were financed through a sales tax revenue bond issued by the City of Kerrville, Economic Improvement Corporation, and approved by the Kerrville City Council. The bond payments are funded through sales tax revenue, not property taxes. Additionally, donations from organizations such as the Yellow Out Campaign, the Texas Hill Country Bicycle Works, and Republic Services, as well as contributions from other donors, have played a crucial role in making this project a reality.
For additional information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (830) 257-7300, or visit the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov.
