Sandbags available for Kerr County residents

The Kerrville Police Department, along with Kerrville Fire Department, are ready and on standby to respond to calls and changing conditions on roadways in the case of severe weather.  Public Works crews have also staged sandbags and barricades at locations that are prone to street flooding, with on-call teams ready to deploy if conditions worsen.

Additionally, the City of Kerrville, in partnership with Kerr County officials, will distribute bags of sand to local residents at the Hill Country Youth Event Center, located at 3785 Highway 27.  Distribution runs from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday and will resume at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, until supplies last.  Sandbags are available on a first come, first served basis, and there is a limit of 10 bags per household.
