Schreiner men’s basketball program is celebrating three historic achievements as senior players continue to make their mark on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) and Schreiner’s basketball history. Kamden Ross, Beau Cervantes, and Dylan Mackey have all accomplished remarkable feats that have brought national attention to Schreiner’s athletic prowess.
Kamden Ross Shatters SCAC Rebounding Record, Eyes 1,000 Career Rebounds
Senior center Kamden Ross, a native of Cibolo, TX, has set a new standard for rebounding in the SCAC. Ross recently broke the conference’s all-time rebounding record, solidifying his place among the elite in the history of the league. Currently, Ross is just 33 rebounds away from becoming the first player in SCAC history to surpass 1,000 career rebounds. His relentless work ethic on the glass has earned him recognition as one of the top players in the region, and he has been named the SCAC Player of the Week twice this season. Additionally, Ross was honored as the D3hoops.com Center of the Week, a testament to his consistent excellence and dominant play in the paint.
Beau Cervantes Breaks Schreiner’s Career 3-Point Record
Graduate student Beau Cervantes, from Bulverde, TX, has also etched his name into the history books at Schreiner University. Cervantes broke the Schreiner record for career three-pointers made with an impressive total of 140 and counting. His sharpshooting has helped elevate the Schreiner offense, and his record-breaking performance has solidified his place as one of the program’s all-time greats. Cervantes continues to be a vital part of the team’s success, and his leadership on and off the court has been instrumental in the team’s growth.
Dylan Mackey Sets New Single-Game Assist Record
Senior Dylan Mackey, a Houston, TX native, achieved another milestone in Schreiner basketball history by breaking the single-game assist record with 13 assists in a single contest. Mackey’s vision and playmaking ability have been central to the team’s offensive flow this season, and his record-breaking performance highlights his exceptional court awareness and unselfish play. His achievement adds to his already impressive career and further cements his legacy as one of the top point guards in Schreiner history.
These accomplishments demonstrate the strength and potential of the Schreiner University men’s basketball program as it continues to make waves in the SCAC and beyond. With Ross, Cervantes, and Mackey leading the way, the Schreiner Mountaineers are poised for a memorable season and a continued legacy of excellence.
