Schreiner University has announced the appointment of Dr. Russell Frohardt as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, effective March 17, 2025.
Dr. Frohardt brings more than 20 years of academic leadership experience, with a strong background in student success, faculty engagement, and innovative curriculum development. He most recently served as Interim Vice President for Academic Success at Northwest Vista College (NVC) in San Antonio, where he led initiatives that improved student pathways, retention, and workforce readiness. Before his tenure at NVC, he was a Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience at St. Edward’s University in Austin, where he also served as Dean of Behavioral and Social Sciences.
A recognized leader in higher education, Dr. Frohardt has successfully launched bachelor’s and dual enrollment programs, secured multimillion-dollar grants, and enhanced institutional accreditation efforts. As an American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow, he worked closely with leaders at Vassar College to develop best practices in academic administration.
