The Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department invites the entire community to a ribbon-cutting ceremony to recognize the improvements that have been completed at the Scott Schreiner Golf Course, 1 Country Club Dr. The ceremony will be held at the course beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27. These enhancements promise a modern, scenic, and community-forward golfing experience while preserving the course’s cherished local charm.
Beginning in December 2024, the Scott Schreiner Golf Course underwent a sweeping transformation, including fully rebuilt greens, revitalized sand bunkers, improved cart paths and bridges, building refurbishments, and more. In addition to facade enhancements at the Pro Shop, a newly expanded deck has been added, perfect for post-round relaxation with scenic Hill Country views.
This $4 million project is aligned with Kerrville 2050, the city’s Comprehensive Plan, and the Parks and Recreation Master Plan. It was funded through a Quality-of-Life Sales Tax Revenue Bond issued by the City of Kerrville Economic Improvement Corporation and approved by the Kerrville City Council. This bond has no impact on property tax.
Before opening to the public, the course will host the 79th annual Heart of the Hills Golf Tournament from Aug. 29-31. This tournament has been played at the Scott Schreiner Golf Course since its inception and attracts hundreds of amateur golfers from across the state to our community.
The course will open for public play on Sept. 1, and guests are welcome to book tee-times starting Monday, Aug. 25. To view rates and secure your tee time, visit https://www.golfkerrvilletx.com.
