Two male subjects have been detained following an alleged robbery at a Kerr County Mini-Mart, located in the 4600 block of Junction Highway, on Thursday. Initial reports state that the duo may have been responsible for stealing cash from the store’s cash register before fleeing.

According to a Kerrville Police Department email, at approximately 1:57 p.m., a DPS trooper began pursuing a reported stolen vehicle from San Angelo. The vehicle, being driven by one of the suspect’s, eventually crashed into several parked cars along Water Street and Earl Garrett.

Following the car accident, the two occupants fled the scene on foot and headed towards Louise Hays Park, while being chased down by DPS officers. One of the suspects, a 16-year old male, injured his ankle and was taken into custody. The second suspect, a 17-year old male, attempted to swim across the river before being apprehended by DPS.

Currently, the 16-year old is being treated for a broken ankle at Peterson Regional Medical Center. The 17-year old male is in the Kerr County Jail.

The incident and the ongoing investigation is being handled by DPS and KCSO.
