The Kerr County Veterans Service Office (VSO) is reminding the public of temporary schedule changes over the upcoming month, due to minimal staffing and previously scheduled appointments.
From Dec. 1-9, the office will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed on Fridays.)
Then, from Dec. 10-19, the office will be closed, with a return to normal business hours expected on Monday, Dec. 22.
During the next few weeks, veterans and/or their dependents can contact the office in the following ways:
~Individuals can call 830-792-2203 and leave a voicemail or email veterans.service@veterans.kerrcountytx.gov. Voicemail messages and emails will be responded to in the order in which they are received.
~Veterans (or dependents) who have documents that need to be submitted may place them in the locked mailbox at the office, located by the blue bench on the exterior of the Allie Burton Annex, 550 Earl Garrett Street in Kerrville.
~If urgent support is needed during the period the office is closed, veterans are asked to contact the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Southwest District Office by calling 800-252-8387, emailing claims@tvc.texas.gov or by scheduling an appointment at https://TVC.texas.gov/claims/appointments/ online.
Any veteran needing immediate emotional support is urged to call the Veterans Crisis Line, which offers free, confidential, round-the-clock assistance every day. Call 988 and Press “1,” or text 838255.
