~Toyota is recalling nearly 31,000 of its 2026 RAV4 Plug-in Hybrids over a software issue that could cause the car to shut down when driven at high speeds. According to documents posted by the National Highway Traffic Administration, the software issue could cause the hybrid system to reduce power or even shut down when the vehicles are driven at higher speeds. Toyota dealers will update the software for free and notify owners by early December.
In a separate recall last month, Toyota recalled 8,521 model year 2026 Toyota C-HR battery electric vehicles because a software issue could cause them to suddenly lose driver power. In that recall, NHTSA said a programming error in the vehicles’ battery electric vehicle electronic control unit could allow the drive battery to become overcharged under certain driving conditions. If that happens, the electric drive system could shut down and cause the vehicle to lose power while driving.

The new recall covers more than 30,000 S-Class cars built between 2021 and 2024. On 100% of these cars, Mercedes has determined that the brake hoses may be faulty and develop a leak.
Letters will be sent out to owners starting in November, with details about where to take their cars for a fix. Mercedes said drivers will be able to take their vehicle to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership to replace the front axle brake hoses on all affected vehicles.
