According to KPUB, Texas is still in a state of emergency, but ERCOT has temporarily suspended the rotating outages at this time. They still advise that a significant amount of generation is still offline.
It is still possible that some level of rotating outages may be needed over the next couple of days to keep the grid stable, meaning that this is still subject to change.
Customers are advised to continue to conserve as much energy as possible with the following tips (peak winter usage hours/when conservation is needed the most is between 7 a.m.-12 p.m. and 5-10 p.m.):
Set thermostats at 68 degrees or below.
Avoid using major appliances during peak hours.
Close shades and blinds to reduce heat leaving your home.
Bundle up using clothing and blankets for additional warmth.
Turn off unused lights and unplug all nonessential equipment and appliances even when they are turned off, as they can still draw a current.
Any residents experiencing an actual outage should contact (830) 257-3050 or (830) 257-2883.
