City of Kerrville posts weather related updates

The City of Kerrville posted weather-related updates on its Facebook page Thursday, and according to Kerrville City Manager Mark McDaniel the biggest issue at the moment is water. McDaniel said, “There have been some breaks and extreme usage we’ve been seeing.”

Residents at Hilltop, Keyston and the Summit have been without water for most of the week. KPD and KFD have been delivering bottled water to these areas. Riverhill and Commance Trace are beginning to restore water pressure.

Citizens are asked to avoid dripping water during the day if they have indoor heat and are regularly using the faucets. Also, try to refrain from operating washing machines and dishwashers until more water is in the system.

Kerrville and all surrounding areas are still under a ‘Boil Water Notice’ per the TCEQ. Boil water rapidly for two minutes before cooling and consuming.

KPUB has restored power to most of its customers and ERCOT announced Thursday that there are no current plans for additional controlled outages in Texas.

Peterson Health has relocated its Urgent Care center through Friday to the Cailloux Professional Building, 575 Hill Country Drive with operating hours of 10 a.m.-7 p.m. The site will continue providing COVID-19 testing and assist with ER patients and can be reached at (830) 258-7669.

PRMC has remained open and was never without power or water, according to spokesperson Lisa Winters.

As for current closures in the area: Peterson Medical Associates in Kerrville, Bandera and Comfort; Ambulatory Care Center, Kerrville; Peterson Community Care, Kerrville; Peterson Hospice and Home Care, Kerrville. The building is closed but nurses are on call.

Area shelters will have available food and water. Meals on Wheels is expected to deliver Friday.

McDaniel said that fuel trucks were able to resupply local gas stations Thursday. Area grocery stores are hopeful that conditions on I10 have improved enough to enable food trucks to begin arriving Friday.

Spectrum was still working on fixing some remaining internet outages Thursday.

Local officials still advise citizens to avoid travel and watch for falling ice.
