Kerr County officials released the most recent COVID-19 data which shows a slight decrease in COVID-19 cases throughout the county. According to Kerr County Emergency Management Coordinator Dub Thomas, as of Monday, February 7, there are 151 active cases in the county, a slight drop from a week ago which showed the county having 180 active cases. These numbers do not include any positives that have been diagnosed through home test kits.
Peterson Regional Medical Center is reporting that it currently has 20 COVID-19 patients. Local hospital coronavirus counts seem to mirror the 28-county region that Kerr County belongs to, as there was a decrease of 239 COVID-19 patients over the past week.
The Texas Department of Health and Human Services reported an additional death of a person who is considered a Kerr County resident, pushing the county’s official virus-related death toll to 160. Texas DSHS confirms that as of Monday, February 7: 49.42% of all eligible Kerr County residents are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Gillespie County officials reported that as of Monday, February 7: 6 patients hospitalized at Hill Country Memorial Hospital, 33 COVID-19 cases at FISD, 100 coronavirus related fatalities since the pandemic began, 37.16% county positivity rate for the week of January 29-February 4, 2022, which equates to 81 positive results out of 218 individuals tested.
