The Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department has announced that the Carver Park sprayground is officially open for the 2023 season, which began on March 1 and continues through October. The site is free of charge and available from 10 a.m. until dark daily, except on Tuesdays due to regular routine maintenance.
Spraygrounds, or splash pads, are essentially playgrounds with water components incorporated into various features. The splash pad at Carver Park has hand-activated motion sensors which are set to run for a designated amount of time and uses treated water that has high level of quality similar to swimming pool water standards.
The City of Kerrville does have certain rules which all sprayground participants must abide by, such as reminding people not to drink water from the water feature and no running while using the playground.
Carver Park, located at 820 Webster Avenue in Kerrville, features a covered playground, a large and small pavilion with grills, a multi-use field, a walking trail and covered picnic tables. For additional information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (830) 257-7300, or visit the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov.
